The c‐Myc protein is a 62‐kDa nuclear factor ubiquitously expressed in the nucleus. c‐Myc has been shown to act as a transcription activator through interaction with SMAD2, SMAD3, Pam, cdc6, BRCA1, Mlh1, p34cdc2, MAD, and Sp1. The 9E10 monoclonal antibody recognizes endogenous c‐Myc at amino acids 410‐419, (EQKLISEEDL), as well as any other protein tagged with this sequence. The 9E10 monoclonal antibody has been widely used in Co‐IP protein‐protein interaction experiments, among other applications as described, plus immunoaffinity purification of recombinant proteins expressing the c‐Myc tag.
