Penicillin acts by inhibiting cell wall synthesis. Streptomycin blocks the initiation complex of protein synthesis by binding to the 30S subunit of bacterial 70S ribosome, thus interfering with the protein synthesis. L-Glutamine is an essential amino acid required by all mammalian and insect cells grown in culture. It functions as an additional source of carbon and energy. A007 is a sterile filtered solution formulated to contain 200mM L-glutamine, 10,000 units penicillin and 10mg streptomycin per ml.
