Tte-Inorganic Pyrophosphatase catalyzes the hydrolysis of inorganic pyrophosphate to form orthophosphate: P2O7-4+H2O -> 2HPO4-2
Unit
One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme required to generate 40 nmoles of phosphate per minute from pyrophosphate under standart reaction conditions (50 mM Tris-HCl [pH 8.5]; 1 mM MgCl2; 0.32 mM Ppi) at 65oC.
